Transport for Wales Rail Services are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated individual to join the team as an Economics & Performance Analyst. Excellent communication, organisational and inter-personal skills are essential, as this will be a dynamic and challenging role where the post holder will need to work with, influence and support colleagues at all levels of the organisation.

Accountabilities:

  • Undertakes analysis in respect to economic and performance analytics.
  • Undertakes regular reporting, analysis and presentation of performance and evaluation information to colleagues that will:
  • Proactively uses information to identify performance variation at any level of the organisation.
  • With users of information, identifies improvements to measures and presents and implements them.
  • Identifies and works with others to correct known data quality issues affecting their information
  • Provides analytical support to identified teams and colleagues.
  • Promotes the use of core information and its alignment across the organisation.
  • Acts as an expert advising teams.

Responsibilities:

With relevant experience in a comparable role, you will have exceptional communication skills, including presenting information for decision making and the ability to work independently as well as with others to make effective use of information. A keen data enthusiast, you will be competent in extracting and handling data and have evidenced influential decision makers, including that of senior leaders and audiences.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Holds relevant Rail Industry knowledge and experience.
  • Analytical Skills and Thinking in particular.
  • Examining variance and developing hypotheses.
  • Good communication skills, including presenting information for decision making.
  • Working with others to make effective use of information.
  • Using evidence to influence decision makers, including senior leaders.
  • Great team worker.
  • The post holder will be educated to Masters level or have equivalent experience that can be evidenced.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Economic knowledge, including:

  • cost-benefit analysis, opportunity cost analysis and policy appraisal.
  • Understanding of business planning, including; alignment of priorities to objectives and key success measures.
