OPEN POSITION AT SKEMA BUSINESS SCHOOL

SKEMA is seeking applicants for a position in Economics.

Rank: assistant/associate Professor.

Starting date: September 2021.

Permanent full-time contract.

Salary and conditions are competitive, in line with international standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a PhD in Economics or a related field, from a recognized institution
  • Demonstrate significant teaching experience in the relevant disciplinary area, especially at undergraduate level
  • Show awareness of teaching and learning innovation
  • Do research in areas consistent with the specializations of current Faculty members
  • Demonstrate strong intercultural skills and the ability to interact and work cooperatively in a multicultural and multicampus environment
  • Be committed to service in the institution
  • Able to teach in English (knowledge of French, although not strictly required, would be appreciated - support in learning French will be offered)
  • Be a team player with good communication skills, and a willingness to contribute to activities in the Academy and the Research Center

EXPECTATIONS

  • Teach and develop new courses at undergraduate level in Economics
  • Supervise students projects at undergraduate level
  • Participate in the student selection process
  • Publish peer-reviewed publications in relevant journals (according to the SKEMA journal ranking list) and/or produce regular intellectual contributions (texbooks, monographs, case studies…)
  • Be a good academic citizen / Be committed to the life of the institution and contribute to projects related to school strategy
  • If appropriate, take on a coordination role, ensuring high quality teaching and standardization across the campuses

ABOUT RESEARCH

The successful candidate will be a member of RISE² (The Reflections and Research In International Strategy Sustainability Entrepreneurship and Economics). The Research Centre in Strategy, is a dynamic and fast-growing research group, whose purpose is to make a difference by generating critical world-class research on how to harness globalisation and digitalisation for a better world. Our members have expertise in a variety of macro and micro topics such as multinational strategy, leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, inter-firm collaboration, cultural distance, environmental sustainability, women in organizations, work-life balance, advanced warning signals, forecasting, digital manufacturing and blockchain, effectuation, economic growth, financial globalisation, anti-trust regulation. We publish in top academic journals, including Academy of Management, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Research Policy, Journal of Business Ethics, Organization, Journal of Applied Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Technical Forecasting and Social Change, Environmental and Resource Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Long Range Planning, World Economy, Small Business Economics.
