Application Deadline

We are recruiting an Associate Director to join our Competition practice. Our Competition team works closely with clients and legal counsel, providing a mix of strategic advice and technical support. We assist in pre-empting issues, in producing and responding to technical analysis, in preparing client submissions and expert reports and in giving oral evidence. The latest examples of our work can be found here.

In addition to inspiring others, we are looking for a knowledgeable candidate with specialised skills and valuable expertise. As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for the long term sustainability and success of the company. Primarily you lead and add value across three key areas:

  • Brand: actively promote and nourish the Frontier Brand

Associate Directors act as guardians of our brand by articulating and promoting the work we do and the culture of the firm internally and externally. Our brand helps our clients and employees understand what makes us different. We combine analytical thinking with creative problem solving to deliver outstanding results for our people and our clients. Our clients benefit from quality, objective thinking coupled with a creative and fun approach. Our people benefit by taking on stretching roles with interesting clients and working with colleagues who are caring and supportive, yet committed to working hard.

  • Culture: actively develop, enhance and promote the culture and values of Frontier

Associate Directors sustain the culture of the firm by embodying our values and by acting as motivating, inspiring and inclusive leaders within their practices and on internal matters. Our company is owned and manged by us. We place significant personal value on delivering outstanding results for our clients and making sure the place we work is fun and inclusive. As a multi practice organisation we actively promote opportunities for our consultants to work across different industries and specialisms because this enables the business to grow in an organic and flexible way. Our people are bright, self-motivated and ambitious with a natural tendency to build relationships and find creative solutions to tough problems. This combination of analytical skill and personal investment makes us different and it is a source of real competitive advantage that we are able to retain high quality staff who have genuine stake in the success of the business.

  • Revenue: make a significant and sustainable contribution to values-consistent revenue generation

Associate Directors generate revenue by building strong relationships with clients, supporting managers in work winning activities and identifying new opportunities for the firm that enhance its reputation. They ensure the profitability of the firm by managing our people and internal resources effectively to ensure that projects are brought in on time and in budget. Generating sustainable revenues in a way that is consistent with our values is core to the future success of Frontier. Our people benefit by working in a company that has the resources to foster career development, attract the best talent and support entrepreneurial endeavour. Our clients benefit due to the investment we are able to make in developing innovative solutions that enable us to respond to an evolving market.

More specifically, we are looking for motivated individuals who want to engage in:

  • Intellectual leadership and Direction: Active leaders dedicated to ensuring Frontier’s long run sustainability; representing our culture and values and adhering to the highest standard of leadership.
  • Client Relationship Management: Strong communicators managing and developing client relationships at the highest level; actively managing Frontier’s brand and protecting and enhancing its reputation and maintaining and raising the quality of the work to meet the highest standards of accuracy, clarity and professionalism.
  • Financial Management and Sustainability: Driven individuals who can who can win and manage significant and sustainable revenue for the company; ensuring that sound financial discipline is embedded in the practices so that each practice maximises its financial contribution to the company through effective utilisation of staff, working to budgets, prompt billing and effective financial administration.
  • Developing Self and others: Inspiring role models responsible for the career development and wellbeing of all of our staff through mentoring, coaching, and facilitating the growth of staff on projects; embedding a learning and development culture.
  • Contribution to Frontier values: A genuine interest in identifying and developing opportunities to make Frontier a better place to work.

In addition to stimulating and thought-provoking project work, we offer numerous benefits to support you inside and outside of work. All employees have access to numerous Learning & Development opportunities including ongoing Career Development Reviews with the support of an allocated Mentor.

We understand the importance of work/life balance and offer flexible working arrangements including working from home. In addition we provide 28 days annual leave with the option to purchase an additional 10.

Frontier is entirely owned by its employees. As Shareholders, we encourage everyone to put forward their views. Not only do we influence how the company is run but we choose to distribute as much of our profits as is prudently possible through bonuses. In addition we offer a highly rewarding salary.

If you would like to apply, you will need to submit an online application via our Careers page. We are currently accepting applications to our Brussels, Cologne and London offices. Please be mindful that for applications to Cologne or Paris, you must be fluent in the language of the country you are applying for.
