Organizational Overview

The Institute of International Finance (IIF) is one of the world’s largest global associations of financial institutions with over 400 members in more than 75 countries. We serve as a forum for exchanging views and developing proposals on global financial regulatory issues and on policy issues such as digital finance and sustainable finance; represent our members from the private financial community in discussions with the public sector on economic and financial policy issues; and provide our members with an independent source of economic and financial research.

Position Description

The Institute currently seeks an Associate Economist to focus on economic research and report production. He/she will be responsible for conducting data analysis, contributing to reports on cross-emerging market issues, with focus on Middle Eastern and North African economies (MENA), and assisting with special projects. He/she will support senior staff writing macroeconomic analytical reports on MENA countries based on information gathered through membership contacts and published statistical and information sources. He/she will also be expected to maintain country databases, maintain and check databases for consistency, address members' data needs, aid in the planning and implementation of events, and assist in the preparation and contribute to drafts to special studies and presentations.

Requirements

Applicants should have a master’s degree in economics, with strong skills in macroeconomic analysis. At least 3 years professional experience in applied economic research including producing economic forecasts, writing research reports and interacting with clients. Foreign language skills are desirable, but not required.
