GLA Economics’ analysis and advice informs key investment decisions at the Greater London Authority (GLA). The GLA requires high quality economic analysis and advice to ensure that the strategies we develop and the projects we deliver are based on sound evidence.

From 2019/2020 the Adult Education Budget (AEB) will be devolved to the Mayor. The AEB is worth about £310 million a year in London and delivers training to adults aged 19+. To support the successful delivery of the AEB budget GLA Economics, you will need to (a) produce reliable skills and labour market data with authoritative interpretation thereof and (b) support in the appraisal and evaluation of AEB spend.

As G7 AEB Skills Economist, you will help produce this work.

You will have professional qualifications in Economics, or a related subject, and ideally have knowledge of skills/labour markets. You will also be able to work with large and complex datasets and have knowledge of project appraisal techniques. You be confident working with a wide array of people and teams.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.
