London £25,270 - £28,875

Ofgem is committed to making a positive difference for energy consumers through effective regulation of the market and close working with suppliers to ensure sustainable energy for consumers and businesses in the UK.

Effective pricing controls play a vital role in ensuring that gas and electricity consumers are protected now and in the future. Joining a collaborative, diverse and supportive team, you will develop, use and maintain financial models to support insight into price control and regulatory regimes for critical offshore and onshore transmission projects. By helping to provide a best practice modelling and data environment, you will be able to champion high quality analysis, work on high profile projects and impact on decision-making around future policy.

This is a good next career step for a graduate with some relevant experience. You must be able to show demonstrable capabilities in financial modelling, gained in a regulatory, corporate or project finance context, supported by in-depth knowledge of data management and analytics. Familiarity with financial, economic and accounting measures, including net present value concepts, and economic depreciation, is also vital. Just as important, however, are your interpersonal skills: you need initiative, influence and good relationship management skills.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:

  • Up to 30 days’ annual leave
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
  • Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
  • Restaurant and subsidised gym (London location only)
  • Interest free season ticket loan.
