The Chemical Industries Association (CIA) is the organisation that represents chemical and pharmaceutical businesses throughout the UK.

  • Produce analyses, forecasts and supporting data on economic aspects of CIA and its members including the UK chemical industry’s performance and competitiveness.
  • Comment on economic policy developments and support the evaluation of other policy developments for colleagues leading in those areas.
  • Represent CIA as required, at meetings with Government, regulators and other stakeholders including NGOs and media.
  • Prepare briefs as required for CIA’s Chief Executive, senior staff, CIA member groups and the Chemistry Growth Partnership.
  • Contribute to written CIA communications through established media, eg: bulletins, magazine, website and various publications.
  • Lead in the conduct of CIA’s periodic business survey and any other economic survey work.
  • Provide support for the Climate Change Agreements and other statistical survey work.

The ideal candidate will have experience of economic and statistical work (preferably gained within a business or government environment) and will be educated to degree level. You will have excellent analytical, written and communication skills and be comfortable using Office systems, including spreadsheets and databases, and web-based systems. You will be a self-starter who is also able to work flexibly as a team-player. Salary around 45k.
