Health Economics Researcher

RTI Health Solutions, is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of a Health Economics Researcher in the Health Economics Health Technology Assessment team. RTI Health Solutions is a business unit of RTI International, and we provide consultancy and research services to pharmaceutical and other healthcare industry clients. This position would be in Germany but can be based in Manchester, UK, if preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support health technology assessments (HTAs) and submissions to reimbursement and regulatory agencies such as G-BA (AMNOG) (mandatory), NICE, SMC, and/or HAS.
  • Conduct clinical and economic systematic and targeted literature reviews to HTA standards.
  • Conduct health economics and outcomes research to support cost-effectiveness, budget impact, cost of illness, and early threshold pricing analyses and support multi-country adaptation of these analyses
  • Write reports and proposals.
  • Manage, implement, and deliver high-quality scientific projects to agreed timelines and budgets within highly-motivated teams.
  • Communicate effectively (via email, telephone, and in-person) with clients and team members regarding projects and proposals.
  • Continue to build scientific stature through publication in peer-reviewed journals and conference symposia.
  • Present project findings to clients and at professional conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, contract research, consulting to the pharmaceutical industry, or related area in Pharmaceutical Policy, Pharmacy Administration, Economics, Health Economics, Biostatistics, or a related field. PhD desirable.
  • Experience in performing clinical and economic systematic literature reviews according to HTA guidelines such as NICE .
  • Familiarity of HTA guidances such as G-BA (AMNOG) (mandatory), NICE, SMC, and/or HAS.
  • Experience related to the German healthcare system, reimbursement (AMNOG), or regulatory approval submission, as well as experience of the ethics process within Germany.
  • Experience related to creating reimbursement submissions for pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices for multiple countries in the EU and other countries.
  • Experience/familiarity with in primary data collection studies; analysis of health care claims, registries, or survey data from the outcomes perspective; cost-effectiveness and budget impact modeling using decision modeling approaches such a Markov and simulation; and cost-of-illness studies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team; excellent analytical and interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) in English and German.
