Are you looking for a challenging role that’s professionally fulfilling, provides development and where you will able to influence the affordability of a service used by millions of households across England and Wales?
We’ve got just the job for you – join us as Principal, Strategy & Policy!
Here at Ofwat, our multi-disciplinary team is rapidly expanding to meet the needs of the 5 year price review cycle. This major programme of work provides the framework for a resilient long-term future for water, providing more of what matters to customers at a price they can afford and are willing to pay. We have a range of exciting opportunities for motivated individuals with a background in Strategy and Policy at Principal level. These are up two year fixed term appointments, until March 2020 where you will play a central role in the delivery of our next industry price review and help shape our future work programmes.
As a member of our Strategy and Policy resource pool, your focus is on strategic policy development and implementation – identifying need, assessing options and delivering and implementing new regulatory policy. So your strong policy development, implementation skills and ability to review evidence with a critical eye are just what we need. It doesn’t end there though, it’s about your ability to think creatively, to refine and respond to evidence and think strategically about the impact of the decisions we make on customers, companies, other stakeholders and the long term resilience of the sector – in short, ensuring our policies stand up to the highest levels of external scrutiny.
We’re looking for the best in the business for these key roles, so in addition to a relevant qualification (preferably in economics, social sciences or law) or equivalent knowledge, we need those all-important people and team working skills that will allow you to collaborate with others and deliver key elements of the price review process.
These roles are offered on up to a 2 year fixed term contract with a salary of £48,891 – £74,782 at Principal level. In addition, we offer a substantial benefits package including 25 days holiday plus 10 ½ bank holiday and privilege leave days per annum among other benefits. While you will be based from either our Birmingham or London office (please specify your preference at application) with a requirement to travel to the other office as required, we do operate a truly flexible and agile working culture with all of the IT/infrastructure (including a Surface Pro and iPhone 7) to enable you to work efficiently where and when needed.
This essential and high profile programme of work happens every 5 years and this is your chance to contribute your expertise to this cycle and help us to achieve great things within the water sector. To find out more details about the opportunities and how to apply, please visit our website.
Interviews are planned to take place throughout June at both our Birmingham and London offices. If you’d like further information or to apply, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
