Our Policy Practice provides advice to all major UK government departments, other governments, businesses, public and voluntary sector bodies on the economic aspects of policy development. We apply cutting edge techniques drawn from a broad economic toolkit including modelling, econometrics, evaluation, cost-benefit analysis, behavioural, industrial and competition economics. Our expertise covers all major UK policy areas with a strong focus on health and wellbeing, education, skills, productivity growth, labour markets, technology innovation and economic growth as well as Brexit related issues.

We are currently looking for an exceptional candidate with experience working in or for the UK’s National Health Service.  This experience should include one or more of the following:

  • work in English NHS trusts or commissioners either as an employee or as a long term secondee or other arrangement gaining expertise working directly with the delivery of healthcare services
  • in-depth knowledge of how NHS institutions work and, in particular, the economic and financial arrangements of the NHS: how NHS institutions earn revenue, how their clinical operations are run, how they are regulated and their governance structures.
  • experience working to and with the senior management of NHS institutions (e.g. delivering analysis, recommendations and advice either as part of an internal team or as an external consultant).

We are looking for someone with sufficient experience that you can, with support, manage parts of projects and handle day-to-day client relationships while overseeing more junior team members.  You must also be used to working in dynamic teams that require enthusiasm and quick but informed thinking.

We expect the successful candidate to have the ability to apply a range of microeconomics tools to policy and business issues. Therefore you should have at least a BSc with a quantitative focus and an MSc in Economics. You will also be able to communicate complex economic arguments in non-technical language, and to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues. We are offering a highly competitive salary package plus bonus and benefits. The role will be based in our London office.
