About the Role
As Mobile Money Regulatory Manager - Global, you will be at the forefront of debates about how to regulate mobile money, stimulate innovation, and extend financial services to people in the regions covered under this role. You will be directly involved in the dialogue between regulators, operators, and international stakeholders. You will be required to speak at conferences and to build a broad network of public and private sector actors, including the international donor community, mobile operators, regulators, and fintech companies. You will work alongside a high-performing and multi-cultural Mobile Money team based in London, Africa, and Asia as well have engage closely with regional GSMA leadership in the covered regions. You will be required to contribute to the mobile money body of knowledge by publishing content that should become the reference materials for policymakers, regulators and private sector actors.
The right candidate will be able to draw on a solid foundation of industry knowledge, regulatory and public affairs knowledge, project management expertise, as well as the ability to engage stakeholders, communicate effectively, and rapidly adapt to different cultures.
You will have a strong grasp of English and a second language, preferably Arabic or French; able to express complex technical, commercial or regulatory issues in plain language with experience in leading legislative and/or public affairs engagement on issues where public policy intersects with legitimate business interests.
