Research Associate in Health Economics

The University wishes to recruit a Research Associate in Health Economics to join the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research and Primary Care.

The key purpose of this post is to develop and apply economic evaluation with a focus on precision medicine. The position will initially focus on implementing the economic workstream for:

  • Manchester Molecular Pathology Innovation Centre (MMPathIC) (funded by the MRC/EPSRC)
  • Characterising the management costs of psoriasis and impact of key co-morbidities (funded by Psoriasis funds)

The post will be based in the Manchester Centre for Health Economics. The successful applicant will join a growing team of leading health economists undertaking research on the supply, organisation, valuation and evaluation of healthcare. They will be expected to make a full contribution to the development of this Team. Candidates should have a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in health economics. Knowledge of the analysis of economic data, the application of regression-based analysis, design and conduct of decision analytic models and the design and conduct of prospective economic evaluations are essential. Experience of applied economic evaluation in health care and building decision analytic models would be desirable.
