Would you like to work for one of the world’s leading air accident investigation authorities?

Are you data fluent, able to provide quality data analysis and generate reports to support good business decision-making?

If so, this is a unique opportunity to join the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) as our Safety Data Co-Ordinator.

Based in Aldershot, Hampshire, the AAIB is the UK’s aviation safety investigation authority and our purpose is to improve aviation safety by determining the circumstances and causes of civil aircraft accidents and serious incidents, and to promote safety actions to prevent re-occurrence. We investigate accidents and serious incidents in the UK and overseas where there is a UK interest.

This is an exciting new role within the AAIB, and you will have the opportunity to shape the future direction it takes. Safety data is key to the AAIB’s purpose, and with attention to detail and strong analytical abilities, you will use your statistical skills to provide quality analysis and reports to our senior management team and external stakeholders. You will be data fluent, able to use a range of software packages and analytical techniques to input, process and communicate data in a clear and accessible way to people at all levels.

The Safety Data Co-ordinator will be responsible for recording, processing and reporting on the AAIB’s safety data ensuring it complies with UK and European legislation and international protocols. This will include preparing safety recommendations and current investigation information for publication on the AAIB’s website and providing stakeholders and the public with key updates on our field investigations. A key part of the role will involve developing the use of the data held in our new Case Management System (CMS), built on a Dynamics 365 platform.

Closing date: Thursday 13th August 2020.
