We are seeking a Senior Economist to join our newly created Policy, Legal and Regulatory team on an ongoing, full-time basis. This is your opportunity to join a globally connected, talented and future focused organisation working to mitigate climate change.

About the role

Based in London, you will report to the Melbourne based Principal Consultant Policy, Legal and Regulatory. Operating globally, you will support the broader Commercial team’s outputs, specifically:

  • Delivery of consultancy services to clients and Members;
  • Providing market-valued, authoritative insights and analysis into CCS technology, markets, trends and industry practices;
  • Producing and publishing materials about CCS issues; and
  • Provide expertise and support for advocacy activities, including thought leadership outputs.

About you

Ideally you will have gained advanced economic experience in the energy, oil and gas, climate change or environmental sectors and are comfortable presenting your modelling and reporting to a range of stakeholders, explaining and demonstrating the impacts of actual or proposed policy. Most of all you will have a passion for the world’s fight to reduce carbon emission.

To be successful in this role, your skills and experience will ideally include:

  • Expertise in economics as applied to energy and climate change, gained from a range of difference sectors or industries;
  • Strong technical writing skills;
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining energy/economic models; and
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand the economic impacts of actual or proposed policy.

Though knowledge and experience in CCS is preferred, if you have a good understanding of the energy transition and markets, we still want to hear from you.
