Ofgem is committed to making a positive difference for energy consumers through effective regulation of the market and close working with suppliers to ensure sustainable energy for consumers and businesses in the UK.

Low carbon. Decentralised. Smart and flexible. This is the energy system on the horizon and Ofgem is playing an instrumental role in shaping new network developments, including charging, connections, incentives and constraints. You will lead on a policy workstream in our review of arrangements for providing access to and charging for the electricity networks. At such an exciting time in the evolution of the energy sector, this is a major review that will provide the incentivisation for network users to adapt to new technologies and transition to a low-carbon energy system.

With a proven track record in analysing quantitative and qualitative information, you will have the capability to scrutinise complex policy, communicate complex issues clearly and drive decision-making at a strategic level. Outstanding stakeholder engagement and project management skills are essential, supported by the agility to manage multiple priorities, diverse stakeholders and to deliver against challenging deadlines. Prior knowledge of electricity network charging or regulatory economics would be very welcome.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:

  • Up to 30 days’ annual leave
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
  • Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
  • Restaurant and subsidised gym (London location only)
  • Interest free season ticket loan.
