The Royal Society, the UK’s premier scientific body, is looking for an experienced policy professional to take forward an exciting portfolio of work that spans the entire research system and the scientific endeavour.

The Royal Society is the independent scientific academy of the UK dedicated to promoting excellence in science. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to deliver high-profile policy programmes on the implications of Brexit, research funding, and the structures and infrastructures that support our world class researchers. In working to shape this evolving policy and investment landscape, the successful candidate will work closely with members of the Fellowship, and senior colleagues from across government, professional bodies and our Sister Academies.

A proven track record of influencing national and or international policy and investment decisions is essential, as is the ability to build and maintain networks of senior stakeholders and to work at pace. Part of a dynamic and creative team, the postholder will commission original research, conduct research and analysis, and facilitate dialogues between the science and policy-making communities.

This is an excellent opportunity to support cutting-edge global science and at the same time ensure maximum impact and effectiveness of the Society’s policy work
