Unicef UK Chair of Trustees

  • 1 week remaining

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the board of an ambitious and innovative UK charity- a global brand, steeped in history – and to make a positive impact on the lives of children around the world.

Unicef ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws and policies to help protect children than anyone else. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.

We raise funds for Unicef’s global work and we lobby and campaign for the fulfilment of children’s rights in the UK and abroad. Unicef UK is a major national committee of Unicef and plays a leading role in the global organisation on a number of key fronts.

As our current Chair of Trustees comes to the end of her maximum term, we are seeking a new Chair to provide inspirational leadership and direction to our Board of Trustees, acting as an ambassador for Unicef’s work with children everywhere. You will have the opportunity to work with a vibrant and passionate board of trustees and an outstanding executive team.

Whether from the private, public or non-profit sector, our ideal candidate will bring personal gravitas and senior experience with which to lead a significant national charity and provide motivating support and challenge to colleagues. You should have previous board or committee chair experience and a clear understanding of good governance. Experience or broad understanding of international development and children’s rights would be an advantage. Above all, you will be fully committed to the objectives and mission of Unicef UK, sharing our vision to do whatever it takes until every child is safe and able to fulfil their potential.
