We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is a real driver of change. As a Commercial Data and Market Intelligence Analyst providing expert advice and guidance on market intelligence. Supporting the development and delivery of DfT's commercial data and systems strategy, market intelligence and maintaining the supplier relationship management strategy.

In addition you will assist in the development of the Department's market and supplier intelligence capacity. Working with a high degree of autonomy, take ownership of researching markets and suppliers. It will be part of your role to produce expertly crafted, robust reports based on sound scoping, planning, systematic research and the effective use of evidence.

Role Responsibilities

In your role you will be required to:

  • develop and realise specific elements of the new Data and Systems Strategies, which is likely to include mobilising one or more complex data systems across the DfT Group and wider government
  • identify waste and highlight opportunities to increase efficiency
  • provide assurance of adherence to a complex set of government Commercial Operating Standards and Operating Functions
  • detailed studies of markets to support procurement strategy development and category management
  • hold briefings for Ministers, the Commercial Director and external parties
  • analyse a broad range commercial of topics such as spend, contracts, skills, talent and market strengths and weaknesses
  • producing and maintaining procurement pipelines and ensuring transparency for internal planning and market engagement.
  • advising on commercial and market topics to a diverse audience

The team is based in Westminster, London &/or Hastings, Sussex, with an expectation for regular travel to London as well as a requirement to visit other regional offices occasionally.
