BlackRock’s Systematic Fixed Income team is seeking an experienced quantitative investment researcher. This individual will join a global team of portfolio managers and researchers focused on developing systematic insights to trade macro assets within a systematic fixed income group.

The role requires strong analytical and quantitative skills, evidenced by an advanced degree (PhD preferred) and experience in applied econometrics and/or macroeconomics (significant central bank experience preferred). The candidate should have a strong interest in macroeconomics and financial markets and be curious about the impact of policy on asset prices, especially on fixed income assets. In addition, the candidate should enjoy working with and collaborating within a global team and should possess the ability to communicate effectively. The role will be based in London.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative investment ideas on fixed income assets using quantitative analysis.
  • Construct and maintain quantitative investment strategies.
  • Deliver high quality research.
  • Comment and provide feedback on other team members’ research.

Qualifications/ skills:

  • Excellent quantitative and empirical research skills evidenced by an advanced degree in Economics or Finance - PhD preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in applied econometrics and/or macroeconomics - central bank experience preferred (ideally 2 to 3 years).
  • Strong interest in macroeconomics and financial markets.
  • Strong programming skills (Matlab, Python).
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
