Ofgem is committed to making a positive difference for energy consumers through effective regulation of the market and close working with suppliers to ensure sustainable energy for consumers and businesses in the UK.

In this exciting role, you will join the Electricity System Operator (ESO) Regulation team. The ESO has a hugely influential role in the energy system. It spends over £1bn a year and it has a significant impact on the future development of electricity networks. The ESO Regulation team is responsible for designing frameworks and creating regulation that ensures the ESO delivers the best possible outcomes for consumers. You will report directly to a Senior Manager and will have the opportunity to take ownership of a number of key work streams, shaping the energy sector for the future and producing real cost benefits for consumers. You will also work with other regulators across Europe, exploring how to build and improve cross-border system operation.

  • Good time management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Up to 30 days’ annual leave
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
  • Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
  • Subsidised gym
  • Interest free season ticket loan
  • Rental deposit scheme
  • Perkbox (staff discount scheme)
