About Us

We’re BSI, the business standards company that helps organizations all over the world make excellence a habit. For more than a century, we’ve been showing businesses how to improve performance, reduce risk and achieve sustainable growth.

Our standards improve the quality and reliability of products and services, enhance consumer protection and confidence and help to achieve economies and efficiencies and facilitate trade.

Our International Projects Department aims to make trading easier and ensure free movement of goods and the provision of services. They deliver a range of donor funded projects that remove the technical and legal barriers that make it difficult to trade.

We’re now looking for a Project Manager to join our International Projects Department, working from our office in Chiswick.

The Benefits

- Competitive salary
- Excellent company-contributed pension scheme
- Company-paid private medical insurance
- A wide range of flexible benefits that you can tailor to suit your lifestyle
- Develop your career with a business that’s committed to continual improvement, integrity and inclusivity
- 27 days’ annual leave (with the opportunity to increase this to 30 days)

This is an amazing opportunity to oversee the delivery of projects that will have an impact on the way countries around the world trade and operate.

We pride ourselves on setting the industry benchmark and invest significantly in our people to ensure they have the best possible opportunity to deliver an outstanding service and realise their professional goals.

Working with us means being part of an organization where ambition, motivation and commitment are rewarded. We do all we can to ensure that working for us is as rewarding as it is enjoyable and challenging.

The Role

As the Project Manager, you’ll oversee the delivery of our international projects, which aim to improve the quality infrastructure of beneficiary countries.

Your duties will involve:

- Establishing and managing standards information services, as well as product test facilities
- Developing product certification and management system certification programmes
- Supporting the development of technical regulations
- Improving the standards development process
- Managing relationships with international donors and business partners

About You

To join us as a Project Manager, you’ll need:

- Previous experience of project management, particularly managing donor funded projects
- A high level of IT literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- The flexibility to travel at short notice overseas on short-term missions
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in international development, economics, management or a related field

Ideally, you’ll have experience of technical design and proposal writing, but this isn’t essential. Experience of developing financial/cost proposals using donor guidelines would also be beneficial, as would a strong understanding of costing technical experts/consultants.

Other organizations may call this role Project Manager, International Project Manager, Regulations Project Manager, Standards Programme Manager, Technical Project Manager or International Development Manager.
