The Department of International Development invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Development Economics. We are a vibrant multidisciplinary department seeking candidates with a focus in development economics, including micro-, international-, public-, and macro-economics and/or political economy of development.

We are especially keen to attract candidates with a strong background in empirical causal inference, an appreciation for field work, and with expertise and research interests in economic development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping our new MSc. in Economic Policy for International Development (EPID) and delivering high quality teaching at the MSc and PhD level. They will also contribute to the multidisciplinary nature of the department and intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding quality research, engaging in other high-quality teaching as instructed by the Head of Department, and participating in the School and wider Departmental activities.

The start date is ideally by 1 September 2025.
