About Us

Fideres delivers effective economic analysis and testimony, turning data into courtroom advantage. As global litigation experts, we help law firms secure new cases and offer unbiased, conflict-free insights for complex and innovative disputes. Driven by rigorous analysis, we empower justice—for all—from case strategy to victory.

By dedicating ourselves solely to litigation-based economic analysis, we can provide truly unbiased assessments and maintain our commitment to objectivity.

Our Competition litigation consulting team has provided expert opinions on major antitrust legal actions against Big Tech (including Apple, Amazon and Facebook), Big Pharma, Big Finance and Big Agriculture. Meanwhile our original and innovative investigations into river sewage and Covid-19 have led to national press coverage.

Our Financial and Securities Litigation team has acted as plaintiffs' experts in the most consequential financial cartels and market manipulation cases of the past 10 years.

About this Role

We are looking for an entry to mid-level Case Evaluation Economist to join our business development team.

Our business development team is responsible for conducting early-stage economic analysis of anticompetitive conduct. Our ability to support law firms globally in the crucial case development phase differentiates Fideres from all other economic consultancies.

Our ability to deal with complex datasets, limited information and span across all major sectors of the economy make this role attractive to those seeking a purpose driven employment mixing strong analytical skills with creativity.

Key Responsibilities

Some notable responsibilities include:

  • Analyse anticompetitive corporate conduct, including assessing theories of harm, market definition, developing preliminary damages models.
  • Conducting detailed statistical analysis of market manipulation allegations as part of the delivery of Fideres’ expert consulting mandates
  • Produce clear and concise reports summarising the key findings of the analysis
  • Verbally presenting key findings to clients in a manner that allows them to understand both the results and how they impact their own clients
  • Writing periodic blogs exploring new and developing competition economic themes
  • Responding to client requests in a timely and helpful fashion
  • Depending on experience, mentor new analysts on report writing and presentations
  • Maintaining accurate records of all billable hours spent on each project

Key Skills and Attributes

The successful candidate will have:

  • MSc in Economics or the equivalent qualification (Undergraduate degree in Economics would also be considered)
  • Passion for competition policy and market regulation, and a strong desire to address corporate misconduct and correct market distortions
  • Some work experience in an economic consultancy or at a regulator for those applying at a more experienced level
  • Knowledge of key competition economics topics
  • The ability to write insightful reports, in particular the ability to express (verbal and written) complex issues in simple terms, understandable by non-specialists
  • Strong analytical skills, able to get to the core issue of complex problems
  • Competence in R required. Some knowledge of Python is preferred
  • Experience with web-scraping is useful
  • Integrity, and a creative, curious mind
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and Bloomberg
  • Lots of initiative and consistently looking to improve processes
  • Responsive to client needs and able to deliver solutions that meet those needs
  • Focused on delivery and committed to seeing projects through to their close
  • Not afraid to express an opinion and offer new solutions
