What The Role Is
The Strategy Group leads and organises the Public Service to develop and implement the Government’s strategic priorities.
The National Climate Change Secretariat (NCCS) is part of the Strategy Group and is responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing Singapore’s domestic and international policies and strategies to tackle climate change.
As a member of NCCS’ Economic Research team, you will support policy formulation and implementation work to advance Singapore’s contributions to global climate action, prepare Singapore for the impact of climate change, and ride on opportunities presented by a sustainable future.
What You Will Be Working On
Conduct economic research and analysis to support strategies and policies to advance Singapore’s contributions to global climate action, prepare Singapore for the impact of climate change, and ride on opportunities presented by a sustainable future.
- Strengthen analytical rigour and evidence-based decision-making in the formulation of climate change policy, by aligning the climate change economic research agenda with Singapore’s policy objectives and priorities for climate change.
- Undertake quantitative research and analysis on topics such as international benchmarking of climate change and sustainability-related performance, and the economic impact of climate change.
- Oversee the development and use of models (e.g. TIMES, computable general equilibrium model) to identify decarbonisation pathways, optimal package of mitigation measures, and simulate carbon policy interventions.
- Manage NCCS’ access to data and analytical resources, and champion data and digitalisation initiatives.

- Skills in economic and data analysis is required
- Skills in data science and analytics, and the ability to develop and run economic models (e.g. econometric models, CGE) and an understanding of climate science and technology would be an important plus
