The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Health Economics to work on a project developing guidance and tools for sourcing, adjusting, and applying cost data with the aim of to improving locally driven priority setting by HIV and TB programs and leading to more efficient and equitable HIV and TB prevention and care programs. The postholder will be responsible for carrying out a scoping review of costing methods and guidelines for community care with a focus on HIV/TB and drafting of guidance on how to build cost functions for resource allocation in TB/HIV. The postholder’s role will also include supporting the preparation for key stakeholder meetings and disseminating findings through reports, journal articles and/or conference presentations.

The successful applicant will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, and some experience in health economics or health policy analysis/priority setting, with a strong quantitative background. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 31 October 2025. The post is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is available immediately.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £44,847 - £50,808 per annum inclusive (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
