We’re offering a permanent opportunity for an experienced policy or regulation professional to join our Low Carbon Regulated Asset Base (RAB) team, working on frameworks that support major national programmes. Job description
- Lead the delivery of regulatory policy with respect to Ofgem’s regulation of the Low Carbon RAB team programmes.
- Undertake analysis on proposals and their impacts and effectively communicating the benefits, challenges and trade-offs to senior colleagues.
- Lead the production of high-quality outputs, including policy papers, consultations and decision letters.
- Making evidenced recommendations on regulatory matters, such as reopener cost allowances, code or licence modification proposals .
- Lead the management of multiple workstreams, including building relationships with external stakeholders, representing Ofgem externally, and overseeing the prioritisation, scoping, and delivery of work. This also involves proactive engagement with key internal Ofgem functions to identify and manage risks and issues.

Essential Criteria
- Demonstrates understanding of economic regulation principles or experience of working in a regulated utilities/ Infrastructure environment, alongside experience in energy policy development. (LEAD)
- Managing delivery: set clear goals and priorities, supports others to solve problems, overcome challenges, seeking feedback and means of continuous improvement whilst delivering high quality outputs. (LEAD)
- Clearly identifies and communicates the relevance, interdependencies and strategic fit of their work to organisational priorities both internally and externally
- Demonstrably identifies and understands the value/contribution of internal and external partners and effectively creates open, creative, constructive, timely and inclusive engagement
