Ofgem is fighting to build a cleaner, smarter energy system, helping combat the challenges of tomorrow by reimagining how Britain's energy networks are regulated. We're looking for a Policy Advisor to join us and help shape the next generation of price control frameworks that will support consumers and Net Zero for years to come.

Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We’re at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people.

We're offering a permanent opportunity to join our Future Frameworks team, where you'll help influence the long-term future of energy regulation at a pivotal moment for the sector. You'll contribute to the development of the next generation of price control frameworks for regulated energy network companies, working on innovative ideas that will shape how networks operate beyond 2031. This is a rare chance to work on forward-looking policy in an area that encourages strategic thinking, fresh perspectives and new approaches.

Working across policy, analysis and stakeholder engagement, you'll help test and challenge established thinking while contributing to the future evolution of our regulatory framework. You'll enjoy broad exposure across the team, collaborating with colleagues from different specialisms and engaging with industry and government as part of a fast-moving and highly collaborative environment.

Job description

We're looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience of working with a range of stakeholders and a genuine interest in public policy, energy or Net Zero. You'll be an excellent communicator who can manage competing priorities, think strategically and contribute to complex projects with confidence.

In return, you'll join an inclusive organisation where you'll play a meaningful role in shaping the future of Britain's energy networks. Alongside flexible working, an excellent pension and generous annual leave, you'll benefit from varied work across Ofgem through our Flexible Resourcing model and gain exposure to a broad range of strategic policy activity.

We have a critical purpose to develop the next generation of price control frameworks for Britain's regulated energy network companies. Join us and help challenge existing approaches, shape future regulation and ensure the energy system continues to deliver for consumers in a rapidly changing world.
