Job Description

The role and our team:

Are you passionate about supporting growth and protecting businesses and citizens from the harms of cyber attacks? The Cyber Governance Policy & Engagement role is a great opportunity to do exactly that. You will have a real-world impact as you help to address barriers to UK companies enhancing their cyber resilience.

Working on cyber governance policy and engagement, you will drive uptake of the Cyber Governance Code of Practice, lead horizon scanning activities to identify and analyse emerging policy trends, and develop and deliver a comprehensive engagement plan to promote the Code.

We are looking for an ambitious new team member to join our friendly and fast paced Cyber Resilience team, which is delivering an exciting range of work to drive improvements to organisations’ cyber resilience across the UK economy. Our team is passionate about learning and development, and pride ourselves on our supportive and inclusive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work across cyber governance policy, driving uptake of the Cyber Governance Code of Practice and taking the lead on developing new supportive tools
  • Lead horizon scanning activities to identify and analyse emerging policy trends, regulatory shifts, and geopolitical developments, to inform strategic planning and decision-making
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive engagement plan that aligns with policy objectives, mapping key stakeholders and outlining tailored approaches to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Take ownership of organising events both led by government but also in partnership with industry, which will include coordinating attendance of seniors and ministers and leading on providing high quality briefing.
  • Present at engagement events (e.g. webinars or in-person presentations) with internal and external stakeholders on cyber governance policy matters.
  • Take the lead in engaging with the team’s analysts on governance matters, including the Cyber Security Breaches and Longitudinal Surveys and monitoring and evaluation of the Cyber Governance Code of Practice

Person specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of analysing complex evidence to make informed and effective decisions
  • Confident in establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships across government and industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident and clear presentation skills
  • Proactive, organised and able to work independently

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of delivering policy
  • An interest in cyber and digital (technical cyber expertise is not required for this role)
