The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. Based within NDPH, the Health Economics Research Centre (HERC) is a well-established group involved in a wide range of methodological and applied research projects, both national and international.

The Health Economics Research Centre (HERC) is seeking an enthusiastic Researcher in Health Economics to join its collaborative and supportive team. The successful applicant will contribute to a range of research projects applying health economics methods to patient-level data from clinical trials and observational cohort studies, with the aim of informing healthcare policy and improving health outcomes.

Working under the guidance of senior researchers, you will manage your own research activities, conduct economic evaluations, develop and apply advanced methodological approaches, and contribute to the preparation of academic papers and presentations. You will also have the opportunity to engage in teaching and contribute to HERC’s wider academic programme

To be considered for this role, you will hold a Master’s degree in Health Economics or a closely related discipline, and have substantial experience in applied health economics research or similar disciplines. You will have strong quantitative analysis skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent organisational skills and experience contributing to academic outputs are also essential.

If no suitable applicant is forthcoming at grade 7, an appointment on the grade 6 scale (with appropriate adjustment of duties) may be considered.

This role is based in Oxford, and offered on a full-time basis (part time considered). It is a fixed term post for 2 years.

The closing date for applications is noon on 06 November 2025.

You will be required to upload a CV and Supporting Statement as part of your online application. The Supporting Statement should include a cover letter and should also clearly describe how you meet each of the selection criteria listed in the job description. Click the 'Apply' button above.
